Surface Conditioning, Satin Finishing & Wool Polishing Drum Kit
Four 120 x 100 x 19mm drums for blending, brushed finishing, surface refinement and final polishing.
A Complete Metal Surface Finishing System
The Polish Up 4 Piece Surface Conditioning and Wool Polishing Drum Kit provides a practical progression from medium surface conditioning through to fine satin finishing and final polishing.
The kit includes three colour-coded non-woven satin finishing drums plus a dense wool polishing drum. It is ideal for refining sanding marks, blending light surface imperfections, creating an even brushed finish and improving the final shine on metal and suitable non-metal surfaces.
What Is Included in the Kit?
1 x Green Surface Conditioning Drum — 180–240#
The strongest non-woven grade in the kit. Suitable for general surface conditioning, blending, cleaning, reducing light oxidation and producing a consistent medium satin finish.
1 x Red Satin Finishing Drum — 320–400#
A finer surface conditioning grade for refining visible marks, smoothing the finish left by earlier preparation and producing a cleaner brushed metal appearance.
1 x Grey Fine Finishing Drum — 600–1000#
Designed for fine surface refinement, light blending and pre-polish preparation where a smoother and more uniform finish is required.
1 x Wool Polishing Drum
The dense wool polishing drum provides smooth, controlled finishing on metal and suitable non-metal surfaces. Its flat profile maintains consistent surface contact while helping minimise heat build-up, surface marking and material distortion.
Progress From Surface Preparation to Final Polish
Select the drum that matches the condition of the surface rather than automatically using every grade.
| Stage | Drum | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Green 180–240# | General conditioning, stronger blending and initial satin finishing. |
| 2 | Red 320–400# | Refining marks and creating a cleaner brushed finish. |
| 3 | Grey 600–1000# | Fine finishing, light blending and pre-polish preparation. |
| 4 | Wool Polishing Drum | Controlled buffing, surface refinement and final polishing. |

Materials
The non-woven drums are suitable for controlled surface conditioning on:
- Stainless steel
- Aluminium
- Mild steel
- Brass and other suitable metals
The wool polishing drum may also be used on suitable plastics, composite materials and other non-metal surfaces. Always test the selected drum and polishing compound on a small, inconspicuous area first.
Machine Compatibility
Designed for compatible burnishing machines, polishing drum sanders and surface finishing machines that accept a 120 x 100mm drum with a 19mm bore. Confirm your machine’s spindle size, drum capacity and operating-speed range before purchasing.
Important Operating Information
- Do not exceed the maximum rated speed of 3000 RPM.
- Wear appropriate eye, hearing, respiratory and hand protection.
- Inspect each drum before fitting it to the machine.
- Ensure the drum is correctly centred and securely installed.
- Begin with light pressure and allow the drum to perform the work.
- Test the selected grade on a small area before finishing the complete surface.
