A complete 150mm bench polisher kit
The Shumba 550W bench polisher provides steady power for regular workshop polishing. Its 150mm wheel capacity gives a useful working surface for both larger components and controlled detail work.
This kit covers several polishing stages instead of locking you into one wheel-and-compound combination. Use the sisal wheel for heavier cutting, stitched wheels for controlled refining, and the loose-leaf or swansdown wheels for the final finishing stages.

Choosing a wheel and compound
- Heavy cutting: use the sisal wheel with Grey Fastcut where more surface correction is required.
- Soft-metal cutting and refining: Brown Tripoli is suited to aluminium, brass, copper and zinc diecast.
- General-purpose polishing: Blue Multishine suits a wide range of metals and can cut more strongly when used on a firmer wheel.
- Bright finishing: Green Chrome produces a high-brightness finish with minimal cut on a soft cotton wheel.
- Stainless and hard-metal finishing: White SS Finish provides useful cut and brightness on smooth surfaces.
Prevent cross-contamination: dedicate one wheel to each compound and label it clearly. Mixing compounds on the same wheel can reduce finish quality.

Safe polishing
- Secure the machine firmly to a stable bench before use.
- Wear suitable eye, hearing and respiratory protection.
- Avoid loose clothing, jewellery and unsecured long hair.
- Inspect every wheel before fitting and never exceed its rated speed.
- Work on the lower front quadrant of the wheel and maintain a secure grip on the part.
- Test the selected wheel-and-compound combination on an inconspicuous area first.
