200mm Airflow Polishing Wheel Set – 16mm Centre, Single Section provides a coordinated four-stage 200mm Airflow system for progressing from a prepared metal surface through cutting, refinement and final finishing. The folded single-section construction promotes airflow through each working face to help manage heat during sustained polishing.
Included polishing stages
- Hard-treated wheel: heavy initial cutting after suitable abrasive preparation.
- Coarse-treated wheel: cutting and first-stage refinement.
- Medium-treated wheel: intermediate refinement and pre-finishing.
- Natural calico fine wheel: final finishing and colouring with a suitable fine compound.
Applications and compound sequence
Use on compatible aluminium, brass, copper, stainless steel, mild steel and other suitable metals. Match a dedicated compound to each wheel and material group. Do not transfer a coarse cutting compound onto the fine wheel. Deep scratches should be removed with the appropriate abrasive stage before polishing begins.
Specifications
- Wheel diameter: 200mm
- Wheel construction: Single section, approximately 13–18mm per wheel
- Wheel centre: 16mm
- Included wheels: Hard, coarse, medium and fine
- Adaptor: Not included
- Primary process: Cutting through to fine finishing
Label each wheel for its compound and metal group. Work from hard or coarse cutting to medium refinement, then finish with natural calico. Only move forward when the previous stage has left a uniform surface.
Machine and mounting compatibility
The 16mm-centre wheels require compatible safety flanges and a suitable 16mm spindle or mounting arrangement. Confirm shaft length, guards, clearance and speed before use. Do not exceed the rating of the machine, adaptor, flanges or wheels.
How to use
- Prepare the surface to a consistent abrasive finish appropriate to the metal.
- Isolate the machine, mount the chosen wheel securely and run it briefly without load.
- Apply the matching compound sparingly and polish with controlled pressure and continuous movement.
- Clean the workpiece between stages so coarse residue cannot contaminate the next wheel.
- Stop if excessive heat, vibration, damage or abnormal noise develops.
Safety
Wear suitable eye and face protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection where required. Secure small parts, wear close-fitting clothing, tie back hair, remove jewellery and keep snagging items away from rotating equipment.
