White Stitched Polishing Wheel – 150mm (6″), Two Section combines layered cloth with concentric stitching to create a firm, stable working face. It provides more control and cutting support than a loose-leaf calico wheel while remaining less aggressive than sisal, making it a versatile intermediate wheel in a multi-stage metal-polishing process.
Polishing role and applications
Use for controlled cutting, removal of light preparation marks, surface refinement and pre-finishing on compatible aluminium, brass, copper, stainless steel, mild steel and other suitable metals. The result depends on the compound, surface preparation, machine speed, pressure and material.
Compound and sequence guidance
- Pair with a suitable cutting or medium refining compound selected for the metal.
- For heavier marks, complete the abrasive or sisal cutting stage first.
- For maximum brightness, follow with a loose-leaf calico or swansdown wheel and a finer finishing compound.
- Use one wheel per compound and metal group to prevent contamination.
Specifications
- Type: White stitched cloth polishing wheel
- Diameter: 150mm (6″)
- Construction: Two section
- Primary role: Controlled cutting, refining and pre-finishing
- Supply: One wheel
Single-section wheels provide a narrower face for access and controlled contact. Two-section wheels increase face width and support on broader surfaces. White stitching keeps the cloth layers firmer than a loose-leaf wheel, making this family suited to controlled cutting, refining and preparation before final colouring.
Machine compatibility
Use only with a compatible bench polisher, converted bench grinder or polishing machine fitted with the correct centre, spindle, tapered adaptor, flanges and retaining system. Confirm shaft length, guards, clearances, rotation and rated speed before use.
How to use
- Inspect and mount the wheel with the machine isolated.
- Run briefly without load while standing clear of the rotation plane.
- Apply the chosen compound sparingly to the rotating face.
- Polish with controlled pressure and continuous movement to manage heat and avoid localised marking.
- Rake or dress the wheel when loaded and stop if vibration, damage or unusual noise develops.
Safety
Wear suitable eye and face protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection where required. Use close-fitting clothing, secure hair, remove jewellery and keep snagging items away from rotation. Secure small parts appropriately and follow the wheel, compound and machine instructions.
